Out of curiosity, what were the reservations from the community (if you have that info)?

They made the right decision.

See here

Most of the community members opposed to the home expressed fears about security and property values.

I think having a home for people who WANT to be there is great, however eagle mountain is far from hospitals/ and police in case of emergencys for ANY recovery home

We have police out here for emergencies. The emergency room issue is valid - but probably only in terms of the home being licensed by the state. The state licensing folks deemed them close enough, apparently. And that's all that matters as far as city council approval is concerned.

Thats what I am talking about, Close to hospitals/ or police to get to them and take them there. I am all for helping people who have addictions.. trust me I think everyone deserves more than one chance. As long as they can stay clean while in the home and out of harms way for them and others around them, I'm all for it. I can name a couple problems or neighbors on my street with bigger issues out here.
