Being A Mormon Blogger Is Cool: Redux

A few months ago I wrote about the many Mormon-related search terms that brought people to my blog. I have two addendums to add to that post.

First, no, Sarah Palin is not a Mormon. She was born in Idaho, but as we found out with Larry Craig, that doesn't always translate to LDS Church membership.

Second, I just got an awesome comment to that previous cool post, and I wanted to share it with all my readers.
"I am very concerned about the mormon church and their treatment of non-momorns in utah. I mean I have heard dozens of horror stories of non-mormons being cheated, lied to an falsly imprisoned (on trumped up charges)simply for not being a mormon. I mean the fact is mormonism is a cult and there needs to be laws passed to protect non-mormons in utah. I hate mormons who try to force themselves on us. I wish to God that jospeh smith had never been born or at least had castrated himself. Anyone who think that God is on their side is dangerous as hell."
I'm guessing this guy didn't vote for Mitt Romney. Wait till he actually visits Utah and finds out we all have horns. That'll be fun.

I'm wondering if that commentor has ever been to Utah, or Arizona, or even left that padded room he's been living in.

Hey cam, it's Jamie Coe from the ward. What an awesome post LoL. Who doesn't think God is on their side?? I would much rather that then the alternative! Holly said that if I liked politics I would enjoy your blog, have you seen the Obama/Moses ad McCain put out?

I'd just like to say that we Mormons lie to and falsely imprison equally, regardless of religious affiliation. :-)

Jamie, welcome! Yes, things get a bit political over here, I hope you like it. I've seen the Moses ad. If you go to youtube you can find McCain's own channel and he's got all his ads and campaign stuff there. Obama and Biden have given him a lot to work with.

Wow, small world. I've been reading his stuff for a while, and I've got him linked on my sidebar. He's hilarious. Do you know him?

Yeah he is hilarious! You reminded me of him on Sunday. His name is Brian and I used to hang out with him and his friends, they would crack me up I miss those days! He is really good friends with my sister and Brother in law Trent (Not to be confused with my husband Trent. Both my sister and I married guys with the same name. Anyways Brian was my brother in law's friend, He is so funny, he even sings like the "BareNakedLadies" really cool guy LOL! I notice you like Mana as well? I do too, however I don't know what they are saying since I don't know Spanish, but my brother bought it for me with Shakira from his mish and I loved both of them ever since.haha

I bet he'd be a blast to hang out with, his blog posts crack me up. But he doesn't write much now that he's finished law school - I wonder if he's too lawyerly now. :-) Do you know Dan Simpson? He's how I found Bryan's blog. And I found Dan through his old teacher's blog. It's like 7 degrees of separation here!

I love Mana. They're like the U2 of Spanish rock. Their music was inescapable when I was in Uruguay. And Shakira had just gotten big when I was there, so I heard a lot of her stuff too. I like her much better in Spanish than in English though.

I saw Dan's remarks on his blog butI don't think I know him. Maybe if I saw a picture. I know Sam Potter, he was the one that would sing " If I had a million dollars" with Bryan... funny he is a lawyer now. They were fun~ Who was your teacher?

Cameron said...

It wasn't my teacher, it was Dan's. I don't know his real name, just his blogger name. I can't remember how I came across it, but it was one of the first blogs I found when I started blogging two years ago. The guy is a teacher and runs a Boy Scout Camp during the summer. A bunch of his old students and camp counselors frequented his blog, and topics got pretty heated. It was fun. He doesn't write anymore, but Dan was one of those ex-students and/or counselors, and Bryan's blog was linked at Dan's. They seem to have a group of old friends that keep in touch via these blogs.

I know Bryan has a friend name Dan that we would also hang with but that wasn't his last name. I have to see if I know who it is...lol
